TRATAMENTO DA CLASSE III ESQUELÉTICA NA FASE DE CRESCIMENTO - RELATO DE CASO
Resumo
O presente trabalho tem o objetivo de fazer um relato de caso sobre a protração maxilar associada à expansão rápida da maxila, que é um meio terapêutico utilizado no tratamento da má oclusão de Classe III esquelética. Este tipo de má oclusão, de origem esquelética, produz deformidade facial. Na fase de crescimento e desenvolvimento craniofacial, com o uso de aparelhos ortopédicos, as características da Classe III podem ser amenizadas; resultando numa melhora da estética, bem como das funções do sistema estomatognático. Sendo assim, o tratamento ortopédico das más oclusões, em fase de crescimento, favorece o reestabelecimento de uma oclusão dentro dos padrões de normalidade, benefícios na estética facial e no psicológico do paciente.
